ANHTU demands release of salary

All Nagaland Hindi Teachers’ Union (ANHTU) has asked the finance department to immediately release pending salaries.

In a press release, ANHTU president Ruchunlo Tep said that despite requesting the responsible department and waiting patiently, all “efforts and hope” had gone in vain.
It asked the department to take note of the grievances of Hindi teachers who were appointed in the year 2012-13 (CSS) and whose salaries have not been paid for four months (March-June).
Agreeing with the queries made by the finance department, the union, however, said that “whatever investigation has to be done must be done at the right time and not at the last moment”.
Stating that the finance department should not harass teachers in the name of scrutiny, ANHTU said that as per the “agreement” made with the state government, the salary of CSS Hindi teachers was to be paid after every two months.
It also stated that the agreement included finding a mechanism for timely release of salaries.
The union said that non-release of salaries had left them in great financial crunch.
The union has, therefore, urged to finance department and the authority to resolve the issue of delayed salary.
