Condolence messages on demise of late Dr. P.S. Lorin

Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio, deputy chief minister Y. Patton and various other organizations have mourned the demise of late Dr. P. S. Lorin, the founder and principal emeritus of Tetso College, Sovima, Dimapur.

CM: State chief minister Neiphiu Rio, who led other leaders and organisations in mourning the passing of Dr. Lorin, said that Naga society, in his death, has lost a fatherly figure, a mentor, guide and a true son of the soil. In his condolence message, the chief minister said that late Dr. Lorin was not only a par-excellence educationist but also a social activist, who had sincere concerns for the welfare of Naga society. Although he had a long list of academic achievements to his name, Rio said late Dr. Lorin was always humble, kind, selfless and a true gentleman, adding that his contribution to the society was immense. The chief minister conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed that Almighty God give them strength and courage to bear this irreparable loss. 

Dy CM: State deputy chief minister Y Patton expressed sadness over the demise of Dr P.S. Lorin and conveyed his condolences to bereaved family, friends and students. Patton said late Dr.Lorin would be remembered for his remarkable contribution to the field of education, adding that his legacy would live on.

NH: Expressing shock and grief over the sudden demise of Dr. P.S Lorin, the Naga Hoho (NH) said that his dedication and contribution towards unity of Naga society as a mentor and a friend would always be remembered. In a condolence message, NH said that late Dr. Lorin was a distinguished educationist and a humble soul dedicated to the just cause of the Naga people. NH conveyed its deepest condolences to the bereaved family members in this moment of grief and sorrow and prayed that God Almighty grant them peace and comfort. 

RH: Rengma Hoho (RH) expressed sadness over the sudden demise of its advisor Dr. P.S Lorin and said that he was a leader who earned the love and admiration of the people for his sense of public service, innate simplicity and honesty. In a condolence message, RH said late Dr.Lorin was a man held in high regard by everyone.  “Today, we have lost an outstanding personality and a prominent leader who for years gave his best of him in all that he did, and for this we owe him a debt of gratitude,” RH said and conveyed heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the bereaved family. The hoho prayed that the Almighty God give them strength to withstand the loss.  

NSF: Expressing deep grief over the demise of Dr. PS Lorin, the Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) said that his sudden demise has created “an unfathomable vacuum in the Naga society.” NSF through its media cell also said that in his passing away the Naga society has lost an educationist par excellence, a deeply committed mentor to the youth and student community and an upright leader with the unfailing zeal to serve the people with sincerity and integrity. NSF said it would continue to treasure the many contributions that he made for the Naga people and the Naga cause during his lifetime. The federation conveyed deepest condolences to the bereaved family members in this time of pain, grief and sorrow.

ANCSU: All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) has expressed deep pain and sorrow over the demise of Dr. P.S. Lorin and said that losing him at a time when students were “transcending into a new horizon of education” would “make us feel his absence immensely.” In a condolence note, ANCSU said that late Dr. Lorin was a true educationist who played pivotal roles in the upbringing of education in Nagaland. ANCSU paid its respect and conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.

RSZ: Rengma Selo Zi (RSZ) expressed grief over the passing away of late Dr. PS Lorin, saying the Naga people, at his demise, have lost a noble soul, a true son of the soil. In a condolence message, RSZ described late Dr.Lorin as a visionary man and a thinker par excellence, who brought about vast revolutionary changes in the field of education and social welfare for the common cause of the Rengma community and the Naga people at large. RSZ conveyed prayers to the bereaved family members, loved ones, friends and well-wishers at this difficult hour of grief and prayed that the Almighty God grant all with the strength to bear with this irreparable loss.

ANPSA: All Nagaland Private Schools’ Association (ANPSA) central body has expressed sadness over the sudden demise of Dr. P.S. Lorin, who it said was a leading light in the field of education.  In a condolence message, ANPSA stated Dr. Lorin during his tenure as president of Nagaland Private Colleges Association, the ANPSA central body also had the privilege to work with him on a couple of occasions. ANPSA stated that his single minded dedication to the cause of education among Naga people was noteworthy. “He has left behind a rich legacy. His was a life well lived,” ANPSA said and prayed that the Lord comfort the bereaved family.

DoHE: Department of Higher Education said it was deeply grieved to hear the sudden demise of late Dr. P.S. Lorin. In a condolence message, the department said in his demise, the state has lost a prominent leader of education and that his significant contributions as an eminent educationist would live on.Further, the department has also extended deepest condolences to the bereaved family members, the faculty and students of Tetso College and prayed that the Almighty God grant peace and solace at this time of grief, and eternal peace to the departed soul.

Advisor R. Khing: Advisor for Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services, Women Resource Development, R. Khing has expressed deep pain at the sad demise of late Dr. P.S. Lorin, who was an educationist par excellence, a humble soul and a forthright person who stood for the truth.  In a condolence message, Khing said late Dr. Lorin during his distinguished and illustrious life was actively involved in various social and religious causes and served in various capacities and that his immense contribution of him in the field of education and social cause would always be remembered. In his demise, Khing said Nagas have lost a visionary leader and expressed deepest condolences to the bereaved family, well-wishers. He rayed for the departed to rest in peace.

NPMHR: Naga Peoples Movement for Human Rights (NPMHR) has expressed deep sadness at the passing of its founding member and first convenor, Dr. P.S. Lorin. In a condolence message, NPMHR said late Dr. Lorin as founding member and convenor never deviated from the ideas and principles of human rights till his last breath. NPMHR said late Dr. Lorin’s departure was a very sad passage of not just his person but also that “gentle powerful voice of assertion” which the younger generation would surely miss. At this moment of grief for all, NPMHR said it equally share in grieving with the bereaved family and prayed that the good Lord would grant graces and also for the departed soul to rest in peace.

FNR: Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) has expressed sadness at the demise of its member and mentor, Dr. P.S. Lorin. In a condolence message, FNR described late Dr.Lorin as a person who stood for the truth of the morality, legality, political and historical rights of the Naga People. “We stand too close to the shock of his passing away so soon to be able to think clearly what Dr.Lorin was to his family, community and the Naga people. His life was a grand story knitted by God himself—a pilgrimage of faith in Jesus Christ,” read the message. 

GNF: Global Naga Forum has conveyed deepest condolences to Mrs.Lorin and family on the demise of its friend and GNF member. In a condolence message, GNF said Dr. P.S. Lorin was a shining example to many Nagas in his public commitments as well as personal values and demeanor. GNF said late Dr.Lorin remained steadfast in his love for Nagas and that he was a true Naga patriot.  The forum said late Dr.Lorin would be remembered as a visionary who brought his dream of higher education to young Nagas and turned the dream into a reality with the success of his College, Tetso College. Further, GNF thanked God for the life of Dr.Lorin and prayed that the Almighty grant him eternal peace and rest, and bring comfort to his loved ones.

ANPSA Dimapur unit: Deeply mourning the demise of Dr. PS Lorin, the All Nagaland Private Schools’ Association (ANPSA) said that he was a man with principles and compassionate virtues.  In a condolence note, ANPSA said that late Dr.Lorin’s achievements spoke volumes of his hardworking nature and diligent soul. ANPSA conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members, relatives, friends and well-wishers.

DRYO: DimapurRengma Youth Organization said it was deeply shocked and saddened to learn the sudden demise of Dr. P.S Lorin, who was a kind man and would be remembered fondly.  In a condolence message, DRYO said late DR. Lorin was not only a distinguished intellectual and educationist but was also a great personal mentor to many. Further, DRYO has conveyed heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathy to the bereaved family. 

NSA: In a condolence message, Naga Scholars Association said it was profoundly saddened by the demise of late Dr. P.S. Lorin.

NSA said his death was not a loss to his family, but to the Nagas at large and academic fraternity in particular.Further, the association has conveyed heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family and said that his life story was one that inspires and would be told for generations to come. 

NFHRCC: Fraternity of Nagaland Foothills Road Coordination committee (NFHRCC) said it was deeply shock to learn about the sudden demise of Dr. P.S. Lorin. In a condolence message, NFHRCC said late Dr.Lorin was its former AGS and was a talented and dedicated esteemed member of the committee since the commencement of the Naga Historic Project. In his demise, the NFHRCC said Nagas have lost a dynamic and able leader and further conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members and also prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.

NSCN (I-M): NSCN/GPRN said it was deeply saddened at the demise of Dr. PS Lorin, a distinguished person who had contributed so much for the Naga society.  In a condolence message, NSCN/GPRN through its MIP said late Dr.Lorin’s footprints in the field of Naga political issue, education, human rights and peace would remain indelible. As a God fearing person, NSCN/GPRN said late Dr.Lorin made his presence felt through his active involvement in NPMHR and FNR in particular, and that his educationist legacy shall live on through many generations to come. NSCN/GPRN has conveyed condolences to the bereaved family and prayed that the Almighty would bless and comfort them and grant eternal peace to the departed soul.

DRSU: In a condolence message, DimapurRengma Students’ Union (DRSU) said it was immensely anguished over the sudden demise of late Dr. P.S. Lorin. DRSU said late Dr.Lorin was one of the greatest inspirations to many and has left a remarkable legacy towards the younger generations.The union said it join the bereaved family in mourning and prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.

WCH: Expressing shock and sadness over the demise of late Dr.Lorin, Western ChakhesangHoho (WCH) said he was not only a great educator but also a social worker and guide.

In a condolence message, WCH Dr.Lorin’s demise was not a terrible loss for the institute, his community but to the Nagas as a whole and that his place would be difficult to fill in. The Hoho has also conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed for the departed to rest in peace.

Former minister Nillo: Former minister, NilloRengma has expressed deep sadness over the demise of late Dr. P.S. Lorin. In a condolence message, Nillo described late Dr.Lorin as an honest and dedicated gentleman and a giant amongst Naga intellectuals. He said Dr Lorin’suntimely demise was a great loss for the Naga family. 

Further, Nillo has conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed to the almighty God to provide comfort and solace to them in this hour of grief and also grant eternal rest to the departed soul.

PLU: Expressing shock and deep pain over the demise of late Dr. P.S. Lorin, PhenshünyuLowjvü Union said the deceased was a great and tall who has contributed immensely for the upliftment of PhenshünyuLowjvü in particular and Nagas in general. 

In his demise, the union said PhenshünyuLowjvü people have lost great and visionary leader and a strong pillar. The union has further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed to the Almighty to grant them peace and comfort and also for the departed soul to rest in peace.

TUD: Tangkhul Union Dimapur said it was shocked to learn the demise of late Dr. P.S. Lorin, who was not only an educationist but also as a rights activist and a peacemaker whose service for the Nagas was enormous in all Nagas’ land.TUD has further conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.

PCC: Patkai Christian College (PCC) has expressed deep sorrow at the demise of Dr. P.S. Lorin, who was a visionary leader in academics and a humble person. 

In a condolence message, PCC said late Dr.Lorin contributed immensely as a board member towards the growth of the college. PCC prayed to the Almighty God to grant solace to the bereaved family members, and the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.

Lorin, Dimapur Naga Students Union described late Dr. Lorin as a fine gentleman, a renowned and humble personality and a visionary educationalist. TSUD: Tenyimi Students Union Dimapur has conveyed deepest condolences on the demise of Dr. P.S. Lorin, a pioneer social activist for every section of the society and an erudite teacher.TSUD said his departure was not only a great loss for the Naga society but for humanity as a while. Further, TSUD prayed to the Almighty to grant strength and solace to the loved ones and also peace to the departed soul.
