Various organisations and individuals have mourned over the demise of Dr. P. S. Lorin, the founder and principal emeritus of Tetso College, Sovima, Dimapur, who passed away on Monday.
DRSU: In a condolence message, Dimapur Rengma Students’ Union (DRSU) said it was anguished over the sudden demise of late Dr. P.S. Lorin. DRSU said late Dr. Lorin was one of the greatest inspirations to many and left a remarkable legacy towards the younger generation. The union further said that it joined the bereaved family in mourning.
WCH: Expressing sadness over the demise of late Dr. Lorin, Western Chakhesang Hoho (WCH) said he was not only a great educator but also a social worker and guide.
In a condolence message, WCH said Dr. Lorin’s demise was not only a terrible loss for the institute, his community, but to the Nagas as a whole and that his place would be difficult to fill in. The Hoho conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members.
Former minister Nillo: Former minister, Nillo Rengma has expressed deep sadness over the demise of late Dr. P.S. Lorin. In a condolence message, Nillo described late Dr. Lorin as an honest and dedicated gentleman and a giant amongst Naga intellectuals. He said Dr. Lorin’s demise was a great loss for the Naga family.
Further, Nillo conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed to the almighty God to provide comfort and solace to them in this hour of grief.
PLU: Expressing shock and deep pain over the demise of late Dr. P.S. Lorin, Phenshünyu Lowjvü Union said he was a great and tall man who contributed immensely for the upliftment of Phenshünyu Lowjvü in particular and Nagas in general.
In his demise, the union said the Phenshünyu Lowjvü people lost a visionary leader and a strong pillar. The union conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed to the Almighty to grant them peace and comfort.
TUD: Tangkhul Union Dimapur said it was shocked to learn the demise of late Dr. P.S. Lorin, who was not only an educationist but also an activist and a peacemaker whose service for the Nagas was enormous. TUD has further conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members.
PCC: Patkai Christian College (PCC) has expressed deep sorrow. It described the late Dr. P.S. Lorin as a visionary leader in academics and a humble person.
In a condolence message, PCC said late Dr. Lorin contributed immensely as a board member towards the growth of the college. PCC prayed to the Almighty God to grant solace to the bereaved family members.
DNSU: Expressing deepest condolences to the bereaved family members of late Dr. P.S. Lorin, Dimapur Naga Students Union described late Dr. Lorin as a fine gentleman, a renowned and humble personality and a visionary educationist. In a condolence message, DNSU said the void caused by his departure was a great loss to the student community and also to the Naga society, and that his immense contribution in the field of education would be cherished and remembered.
DBSU: Expressing deep pain and sadness over the demise of late Dr P.S. Lorin, Dimapur Bengali Students’ Union said he was a true gentleman and a visionary educationist. Further, the union conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members.
TSUD: Tenyimi Students Union Dimapur has conveyed deepest condolences on the demise of Dr. P.S. Lorin, a pioneer social activist for every section of the society and an erudite teacher.TSUD said his departure was not only a great loss for the Naga society but for humanity as a while. Further, TSUD prayed to the Almighty to grant strength and solace to the loved ones.
NSCN (I-M) Rengma region: NSCN (I-M) Rengma region while expressing grief over the demise of Dr. Lorin said that he served the Nagas in numerous leadership capacities.
In a condolence note, NSCN (I-M) Rengma region care-taker CAO NS Lorin said that he had not just contributed towards the field of education in Nagaland but was also a nationalist who always advocated for what was right.
“His contributions towards the Naga nation will always be cherished and remembered”, NSCN (I-M) Rengma region said.
Further the region conveyed its condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed to the Almighty to give them comfort.
