
State Health and Family Welfare (H&FW) department has utilised a total of Rs 21.12 crore from contingency fund flow in the battle against the COVID-19 pandemic, nodal officer IDSP, Dr. Nyan Kikon disclosed this during a press conference held in the conference hall of H&FW directorate here Friday.
While a total of Rs 5.23 crore had been used as contingency fund flow to all the districts, Dr. Kikon said Rs 23.44 lakh had been utilised at Meriema quarantine centre, Rs 1.73 lakh at ATI quarantine centre and Rs. 34.16 lakh at K Badze quarantine centre.
A total of Rs 8.66 crore had been utilised for BSL-3 Kohima while Rs. 3.69 crore and Rs. 2.93 crore had been utilised for BSL-2 at CIHSR and BSL-2 at Tuensang respectively.
Besides creation of 390 posts last year on temporary basis, some of the initiatives taken up to augment human resources in the State included:
* State government scheme for ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakhs to all government and non-government functionaries involved in combating COVID-19.
H&FW to upload all expenses on website
* Preference in government appointment by awarding 25% of the total marks for respective recruitment examination in government and private establishments to all HCWs who have rendered COVID-19 services for at least 100 days.
* Engagement of HCW for short term basis entitled for remuneration of above 25% of the entry level salary of respective grade of regular employees.
* HCW in private sector engaged in COVID-19 management if contracted the virus while on duty will be entitled for reimbursement of expenditure incurred for treatment on the same pattern as for government employees.
* In-service Medical Officer who have rendered at least 100 days of COVID duty will be entitled for preference for study leave to undergo further studies.
* Engagement of interns, final and 2nd year students of various medical professional courses for non-COVID duty.
Dr. Kikon further disclosed that a total of 145 cold chain points have been set-up including state and district vaccine stores to preserve the vaccines.
