Medziphema CHC declared as 20-bedded CCC

Community Health Center (CHC) Medziphema was declared as 20-bedded Covid Care Centre (CCC) on Friday.

According to DIPR report, DC Rajesh Soundararajan lauded CHC Medziphema and observed that the CCC was put in place surpassing all CHCs in a record time and assured of additional back up support anytime through DTF Dimapur.

While noting that Medziphema ought to be the next immediate focus, Rajesh advised them to bring to the notice of ADC Medziphema if there were any issues so that immediate action would be initiated.

CMO Dimapur, Dr. I. Moatemjen pointed out that CHC Medziphema had all the required infrastructures in place and considering the long distance from Medziphema to Dimapur, it was decided to declare it as CCC after discussion with SMO Medziphema who expressed his willingness for the same.

Mild cases would be treated from CCC Medziphema while moderate and severe cases would be shifted to Covid hospital Dimapur, he informed. 

With positive cases increasing, CMO admitted that manpower might not be sufficient but assured for helping out in terms of manpower and other required logistics.

SMO, CHC Medziphema, Dr. N. Sezo informed that initially the CCC Medziphema would start with 20 beds. He however informed that the mother and child ward would continue on the left side of the other building and the CHC would also continue to take care of road accident cases.

Sezo also informed that after discussion with the Army, they agreed to take care of OPD cases.

Dr. Sezo also acknowledged John Bendang a resident of Medziphema who has been rendering humanitarian services to the people of Medziphema by taking care of both Covid and non-Covid patients from his private car at his own expenses.Health management committee chairman who is also the chairman NHHDC Ltd. government of Nagaland, Miathou Krose felt that Pastors should be under exempted category so that they could give spiritual counseling to Covid patients.

Meanwhile, nodal officer for COVID-19 Dimapur district, Y. Kikheto Sema informed that presently there were 348 positive cases and encouraged the people to get vaccinated and to shun the rumours.

Earlier, the nodal officer declared the CCC Medziphema opened by cutting a ribbon while Ao Baptist Church Medziphema Pastor, Anungba Imsong offered the dedicatory prayer.
