
District administrations have been issuing directives to the public in order to stop further community spread of Covid-19. Vaccinations and testing are also being conducted across the state.
Vaccination camp at Nagaland house, New Delhi: Nagaland House, New Delhi organised a vaccination camp in its campus on Saturday. All the staff of Nagaland House and staff of the department of customs and central excise were administered with the COVISHIELD vaccine.
A press release through its assistant liaison officer, Kedichatuo Kense informed that 46 staff of Nagaland house and seven staff of customs and central excise were vaccinated.
The team of Fortis Hospital, Shalimarbagh, New Delhi conducted the vaccination programme and protocols were properly followed for which all necessary arrangements were in place.
The vaccination programme was conducted with the initiative of additional chief secretary & chief resident commissioner Nagaland House, Jyoti Kalash.
72 beneficiaries vaccinated at Bayavü Kohima: With the low turnout of 45 years and above category receiving the Covid vaccine as recorded in Kohima district, the medical team on Saturday reached out to the eligible beneficiaries at Bayavü colony Kohima.
The medical team conducted the vaccination drive at Bayavü health and wellness centre, Kohima where the drive was blessed by Bayavü Area Panchayat Chairman, Khinyi Woch.
According to DIPR report, during the vaccination drive, 72 beneficiaries received the first dose and second dose of Covid vaccine. 58 beneficiaries were from the age group of 45 to 59 years category and 14 beneficiaries were from 60 years and above category.
Kiphire to conduct ward-wise vaccination: Kiphire DTF held a meeting at the DC’s conference hall on Saturday, which was chaired by DC & DTF chairman Rahul Mali.
The meeting decided to conduct ward wise vaccination camp and ward chairmen were directed to activate “ward task forces” in their respective wards at the earliest.
The ward authorities were directed to submit data of 18 years and above people who were interested in getting the Covid vaccine with their name, age, ID card number and their mobile number to the district immunization office.
During the meeting, Dr. Moa Jamir called for early reporting and medication if a person was sick and had Covid-like symptoms, as in many cases, late reporting were the cause of death.
Confirming about the SOPs on burial of dead body, he said that once the corpse was disinfected by the medical team, it cannot infect other people.
DTF members thanked the United Sangtam Lithroti Ashimukhong (USBLA) for allowing to use Hopongkyu Memorial Hall for accommodation of the medical team in the post treatment of Covid patients.
The members also discussed on the issue of rumours going viral on social media. DC Rahul Mani said vaccination was the only solution and he encouraged the community leaders to lead by example by availing the vaccine themselves and create awareness and encourage people to take the vaccine. DC Mon appeals to citizens: With most COVID-19 positive patients not disclosing their full contact history, which was posing a hurdle for the contact tracing team and which may lead to unchecked/uncontrolled spread of COVID-19 in the community, DC Mon, Thavaseelan K appealed to all the citizens to reveal all contacts they had (both individual/group) once test positive and to come forward if he/she has come in contact with a person who has tested positive.
The appeal added, “Early testing, diagnosis and treatment is the difference between life and death”.
NSCH and John 3:16 society informs senior citizens of Mon town: The Nagaland Senior Citizen’s Helpline, Kohima in collaboration with John 3:16 Society, Mon would be distributing food items to the most needy senior citizens of Mon town during the lockdown period.
Concerned citizens have been requested to identify destitute elders in their respective neighborhood and contact officials on 9436219769 and 8729939007 for necessary assistance.
Hotahoti village Naginimora declared containment zone: In order to take effective measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19, ADC Naginimora, Vineet Kumar has declared Hotahoti village in Naginimora as a containment zone with immediate effect till further orders.
The ADC has informed that any person found violating the containment measures would be liable to be proceeded against as per the provision of Sections 51 to 60 of Disaster Management Act 2005 besides legal action under IPC Section 188 and other legal provisions as applicable.
Longkhim Block Task Force (LBTF) meeting: Longkhim Block Task Force meeting for sensitisation on COVID-19 vaccination was held at Duda Hall, ADC office Longkhim Tuensang district on Friday.
The meeting was chaired by MO CHC Longkhim Dr. Saotakum Chang.
In a press release, DMO (NHM) Apheang informed that during the meeting, Dr. Saotakum Chang encouraged to the participants to come forward and get vaccinated without hesitation.
He also requested all responsible department officials to encourage the people to get vaccinated and not to believe in the misconceptions about the vaccine.
He also gave an explanation of Covishield and how the doses were administered.
The meeting was attended by ADC Longkhim block, sector chairman, student leaders, Church leaders, Dobashis, NGOs and staff CHC Longkhim.
Assam Rifles conduct vaccination drive: Mon battalion of HQ IGAR (N) under the aegis of spear corps organised a COVID-19 vaccination drive for locals of the area at council hall Naginimora on May 31 and June 1.
According to PRO IGAR (N), the segregation of medical staff of PHC Nagnimora due to COVID cases in the staff did not hamper the vaccination drive for the locals as medical team from battalion hospital shouldered the responsibility and ensured unhindered vaccination to locals who had already booked their slot for vaccination. Altogether, 193 persons were vaccinated.
