Intensified vaccination drive in Kiphire: Kiphire DTF has decided to undertake an intensified COVID-19 vaccination at government higher secondary school, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on June 9.
DTF has informed that for beneficiaries of 18-44, spot verification would be allowed with ID proof; for beneficiaries of 45 years and above, spot verification is allowed with ID proof and for HCWs and FLWs with prior registration employment certificate duly signed by the controlling officer should be produced. Special vaccination drive at Pfutsero: ADC Pfutsero in a circular stated that in order to intensify vaccination under Pfutsero sub-division, the general public has been informed that a special vaccination drive for 18 years and above would be organised by the block task force on the June 13 at Pfutsero town sports complex from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Therefore interested persons have been asked to register online by logging in to www.cowin.gov.in or through walk-in registration with valid photo identity card (Aadhaar/EPIC/driving license/PAN card)
DC Kiphire warns village authorities: DC Kiphire Rahul Mali has informed that some village authorities in Kiphire have issued prohibitory directives preventing the entry and exit of medical staff including general public.
In this regard, the DC has warned that such unauthorised obstruction and violation of laid down government orders and infringement on individual rights and offence is liable to legal action under section 186 and 188 of the Indian penal code and Nagaland Epidemic Diseases Regulations 2020 and section 51 of the Disaster management Act 2005.
Further, the DC informed that violating of this order would be initiated against any village authorities obstructing the entry and exit of medical staffs including general public.
Houses unsealed at Jalukie: In view of the completion of contact tracing as per the laid down SOP, ADC Jalukie, Dr. Tinojongshi Chang has notified that the buildings located at house no. 9 Sector ‘C’, old Jalukie village and house no.149 stadium colony, Jalukie town which were sealed on June 2 has been revoked with effect from the issue of this order.
Houses sealed at Mon: DC Mon and Chairman (DDMA), Thavaseelan K has ordered the sealing of the following houses in Mon town: house no.156 B, Wagiem Ward; house no.116, Shamnyu Ward. The houses are to remain sealed till further orders.
Further, the DC has informed that any person violating the containment measures would be liable to be proceeded against as per the provision of Sections 51 to 60 of Disaster Management Act 2005 besides legal action under IPC Section 188 and other legal provisions as applicable.
Ambulance for vaccination sessions launched: CMO Dimapur, Dr. I Moatemjen launched an ambulance service for Covid vaccination outreach session in urban areas, at SD Jain School, Marwari Patti, on Tuesday.
The ambulance service was initiated by Jain Samaj Dimapur, in collaboration with CMO Office Dimapur, to accelerate Covid vaccination.
A press release by district programme officer, UIP/RCH, Dr. Rebecca Sema stated that the CMO in his speech said it was difficult to be prepared for any pandemic or disaster, however, when the community came forward to assist the department and take social responsibilities, people could overcome any kind of pandemic or disaster.
He added that the pandemic also brought communities closer and was optimistic that together they would defeat the pandemic.
Secretary, SD Jain charitable clinic, Narender Jain stated that Jain Samaj was pleased to collaborate with CMO office in the fight against the Covid pandemic and expressed his gratitude towards health department for allotting vaccination centre at Jain charitable center.
President, Jain Samaj, Om Prakash Sethi, reassured that Jain Samaj was eager and willing to continue their support to medical department and urged the department to call upon the Samaj for any future health activities without hesitation.
Tovihoto Ayemi takes stock of Covid situation: Advisor, power, Nagaland Tovihoto Ayemi, MLA held a meeting with Dimapur DTF to take stock of the COVID-19 situation in Dimapur on Tuesday.
The meeting was attended by DC Dimapur Rajesh Soundarajan, nodal officer Kikheto Sema and other officials of the district Task Force.
The advisor had a thorough discussion with the district officials relating to rise in Covid cases in Dimapur and also advised district officials to work in order to ameliorate the grievances of the people.
DKCTF to organise 50 hours chain prayer: Diocese of Kohima COVID-19 Task Force with the initiative of the prayer support core team has informed that it would be organising a 50 hour chain prayer and adoration for people infected and affected by COVID-19 as well as doctors, nurses, health care workers, police force, civil authority and all who are directly or indirectly involved in the fight against the pandemic.
In a press release, Fr. Anto Paul has informed that the initiative was done in collaboration with various parishes, centers and institutions of diocese all over the state.
In this regard it has invited all, irrespective of denominations and religions to join the prayer for the healing and protection, and strengthening of all the frontline workers.
The prayer and adoration would be commenced from Holy Cross Church Dimapur by Rev. Fr. Sabu Chenackal, coordinator of the prayer and support task force COVID-19 Catholic church and the parishes at 10 a.m. on June 9 and would reach out all over Nagaland and would be concluded at the Catholic Cathedral by Bishop Most. Rev. Dr. James Thoppil at 11 a.m. on June 11.

Congress COVID Sevak campaign: The Congress COVID Sevak campaign would be assisting 18-44 years to register for vaccination on Cowin portal in order to ensure that those without the means and know-how do not get left out of the vaccination process.
Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) through the Nagaland Congress Covid Sevak committee joined to partake in the campaign by organising a walk-in registration centre near Shani Mandir, old daily market, Dimapur on June 7.
Congress COVID Sevaks assisted in registering more than 100 beneficiaries during the campaign. The registration centre would continue to function throughout the week and similar centres would be replicated in different localities of the city in the coming days.
Ambulance for Mongsenyimti PHC launched: An ambulance for Mongsenyimti primary health centre was dedicated by Mongsenyimti compound Baptist Church pastor, Rev. Imti Ozukum in the presence of minister PWD, mechanical and housing, Tongpang Ozukum on Tuesday at Mongsenyimti village.
In a press release, press secretary to the minister stated that while speaking on the occasion, medical officer Dr. Rachel said the induction of the ambulance under the PHC would benefit the surrounding villages which came under the PHC.
She also said that addition of the ambulance would be beneficial and that it would ferry Covid patients of the area.
Meanwhile, Tongpang Ozukum thanked the medical minister and medical department for understanding the impending need as a result of the prevailing pandemic and allocating the ambulance for the benefit of the people.
He hoped that the PHC management team and Mongsenyimti village council would work hand in hand and utilise the ambulance judiciously.
He also asked the council members and PHC management team to continue supporting one another so that lapses would not occur especially during these trying times.
DABA provides 100 oxygen cylinders: Dimapur Ao Baptist Arogo (DABA) provided 100 jumbo oxygen cylinders to all the private hospitals that had a Covid care in Dimapur.
