DC Kma launches dry ration package

A dry ration relief package for daily wage earners was launched by District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), chairman and deputy commissioner, Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie at Khuochiezie (local ground), here, on Monday.

Keeping in mind the hardships faced by daily wage earners especially since the lockdown, the state government had taken up the initiative to provide relief materials which would help mitigate their economic worries.

For Kohima district, a total of 7000 beneficiaries have been listed from all the colonies and wards under Kohima municipal and rural areas.

According to a government directive, the number of beneficiaries in administrative sub-division/circle includes Chiephobozou (700), Tseminyu (700), Jakhama (300), Sechü Zubza (300), Botsa (300), Kezocha (200) and Tsogin (200) while the remaining 4300 would be distributed among Kohima municipal and Kohima Sadar areas.

The relief package has 12 items which includes rice, lentils, kholar, mustard oil, sugar, salt, tea, bath soap, washing soap, masala packet, onion & garlic and chilli powder. Regular distribution of the package would be in full swing from Tuesday, 9 a.m. onwards.
