DC Dimapur launches relief packages

Deputy commissioner (DC), Rajesh Soundararajan launched the distribution of relief packages for daily wage earners, here, at Holy Cross higher secondary school auditorium hall on Tuesday. 

Addressing media persons, the DC informed that the distribution of relief packages was initiated under the directives of the state government to assist daily wage earners affected by the lockdown. He also informed that various organisations and stakeholders in Dimapur would be assisting the district administration in distributing the relief packages at grassroots level. 

It may be mentioned that a total of 7,000 households have been listed as beneficiaries in the district. The relief package includes rice, lentils (dal), kholar, mustard oil, sugar, salt, tea leaves, soaps, spices, onions, garlic and other spices. Volunteers from Dimapur Ao Baptist Church (DABA), Muslim Council Dimapur (MCD) and Red Cross Society (RCS) assisted in packaging and distribution of the relief items.
