
Advisor for School Education, KT Sukhalu Thursday held a meeting with National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd. (NHIDCL) officials, Madhucon Company Pvt. Ltd., Sumi Hoho, Zunheboto Two-Lane Construction Monitoring Committee and Sumi Officers Union Zunheboto Thursday at the residence of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Zunheboto.
According to DIPR report, at the meeting, Sukhalu pointed out that despite Zunheboto being the “heart of the state” still suffers from connectivity issues because of bad roads.Underscoring the importance of good road connectively for the district, he said not only the citizens but legislators representing the district also feel the need for good roads. Acknowledging that there are some “local issues” pertaining to the construction of the two-lane road, Sukhalu appreciated the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Zunheboto and team for dealing with problems efficiently.
While assuring state government’s assistance in ensuring that no workers of the companies are harassed, Sukhalu asked the companies to ensure quality and efficient work.
Sumi Hoho general secretary, Nikheto Jimomi said the monitoring committee has been cooperating with the district administration and added that the committee was trying to expand the road where there are provisions. Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Zunheboto, Moa Longkumar said 57 compensated areas, without problems, had been marked. However, NGOs are in talks with those area owners whose land are yet to be compensated.
District statistical officer and president, Sumi officers’ Union Zunheboto, Lhokiye Yepthomi said that with the sincere cooperation from all ends, the vision of a developed Zunheboto could be achieved.
