Chümoukedima Town Youth Organisation (CTYO) has cautioned against anti-social activities within its jurisdiction and has also appealed the business community to refrain from hoarding essential commodities.
In a press release, CTYO president, HoviseNaleo and general secretary, AviMakritsu said CTYO office has received multiple complaints and concerns from the public with regard to the activities of antisocial elements in the general area of Chümoukedima town.
In this regard, CTYO has reminded all concerned that activities like drinking in public places, drug peddling/abusers, thievery or any such activities that disrupts the peace and tranquillity of Chümoukedima area, while all being punishable offences under the law, would not be tolerated.
CTYO informed that it would be deploying volunteers to conduct surprise checks regularly and cautioned that strict action would be taken against defaulters.
Keeping in mind the impact of the pandemic on the economy, CTYO has appealed the business community/shopkeepers to refrain from hoarding of goods, especially essential commodities. CTYO said such practices give rise to price rise/shortage of goods, and have a domino effect on price of other goods as well. Further, CTYO said that it would take action against those selling expired goods.
