In pursuance to the July 28, 2021 order by the High Court in case no. PIL 6/2021, the State home department has modified its earlier order and ruled that salaries of employees who did not take a single dose of vaccine against Covid-19 would not be stopped beyond July 31.
Further, the department has also ruled that employees at civil secretariat in Kohima and directorates who were yet to take the first dose of vaccine against Covid-19 and were required to produce Covid test negative report by getting tested every 15 days either through RT-PCR/TrueNat/CBNAAT for attending office, may get tested at government testing facilities without any charge.
It may be recalled that the Kohima bench of the Gauhati high court on July 28 put a stay on the state government’s order for compulsory COVID-19 vaccination of its employees.
After hearing a public interest litigation (PIL), the bench decided to stay the order till the next date of hearing.
The court posted the matter for hearing after two weeks.
