Former chief minister and NPF president, Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu while expressing concern over the prevailing situation in Nagaland has called upon all to work together to “change the face of Nagaland”.
He was speaking as the chief guest on December 15 on the closing ceremony of Nagaland State Bharat Scouts and Guides (NSBSG) golden jubilee celebration held under the theme “one world, one goal” at State Training Centre (STC), Pheza Nerhema under Kohima district.
According to a press release by media committee, NSBSG golden jubilee, Dr. Shürhozelie said, “Attitude of people needed to be changed. We must develop work culture and so many things.”
Congratulating NSBSG for attaining fifty years, Dr. Shürhozelie also paid rich tribute to pioneers and recalled his fond memories with this worldwide movement in Nagaland.
Quoting the date of 2010, he said there was 2897 Scouts and Guides and urged upon the NSBSG to expand its unit and also organize more awareness program to increase the figures.
He said that at present there were around 4.2 million members in this worldwide movement which was started with 20 boys in 1907 by Lord Baden Powell.
Dr. Shürhozelie said that this worldwide movement truly inculcated values of discipline, social services and sense of patriotism which should be highly appreciated.

P. Longon, C. L John, C. Sazo, R. Tohanba, Vikheho Swu and Thongwang Konyak.
While delivering vote of thanks, secretary, organizing committee golden jubilee, K. Neibou Sekhose, expressed sincere gratitude to all well wishers for success of the jubilee.
The programme was chaired by Dr. Rukulu Puro and Xavier Rutsa, while the jubilee night extravaganza was entertained by Cotton Country band, Nukshi, Thepfuriya, Tia and Sinya Kath. Altogether 556 Scouts and Guides and other officials from various districts attended the three-day event.
