WSYF to monitor extraction of sand gravels, boulders

Western Sumi Youth Front (WSYF) held a meeting on July 31 at WSYF office, Dimapur and deliberated on the issue of rampant extraction of boulders and sand gravels at Atu Ghoki Nuiland.

In a press release, WSYF general secretary Bohoi K Yepthomi informed that the following resolutions were adopted at meeting: to permit only 40 dumpers trucks to carry boulders and sand gravels from Atu Ghoki Nuiland; all dumpers/trucks shall get registered from WSYF; registration is open from August 5-10 (10 a.m.-4 p.m.); vehicle without WSYF registration would not be allowed to transport boulders/sand gravels from Atu Ghoki Nuiland; vehicle carrying boulders and sand gravels from Atu Ghoki Nuiland would be allowed to ply till 8 p.m.

The meeting resolved not to allow extraction of boulders, sand gravel within 500 feet from the bridge.
