
Agriculture department officials, along with representatives of Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA), Phek visited Kikruma village in Phek district on Wednesday and held an interaction with village council and farmers on the unique farming system being practised.
In the short programme chaired by ATMA, Kohima deputy project director Keviu Shuya, agriculture joint director Dr. I Amenla shared the book “Innovations in Agricultural Extension” (a joint publication of Michigan State University-Extension-USA & MANAGE, Hyderabad) which featured the Zabo/Zabü farming system of Kikruma village.
Village council chairman Thipuzhoyo Thira and member Veto Kezo interacted with the officials on behalf of the village.
The officials also handed out copies of ATMA success stories published by ATMA Nagaland and the recently released District Crop Calendar published by the agriculture department, along with some winter vegetable seeds.
Zanehu, a farm school teacher and owner of Razü (Zabo) Farm School of ATMA, provided a field tour on Zabo/Zabü. This was stated in a press release.
