
Community Educational Centre Society (CECS) conducted awareness-cum-vaccination drive on August 5. The programme was supported by Wipro cares.
In a press release, CECS informed that the vaccination drive for first and second dose was held at Bangjak Phom Colony and East block Burma Camp Dimapur on the theme “vaccine bring us closer”.
The awareness programme was attended by the colony heads, CECS director Subonenba Longkumer, medical team and the organiser.
Speaking at the programme, chairman Bangjak phom colony, Pongtei Phom expressed his concern about the importance of taking vaccine and also encouraged the people not to be driven by the misconception on the vaccine.
Medical officer Dr. Sashi jamir also informed that getting a Covid dose may not guarantee an individual from COVID-19, however, one should follow the SOPs earnestly.
He further specified that the main purpose of Covid vaccine was to build one’s immunity before getting sick which would prevent the person from hospitalisation.
The drive received a positive response with around 180 doses.
CECS also expressed a gratitude to the chief medical officer (CMO) Dimapur for not only granting permission to organise the camp but also providing medical staff for the vaccination drive.
Mokokchung: District Task Force (DTF) Mokokchung carried out random testing for shopkeepers, barbers, street vendors, labourers and public volunteers around Mokokchung town from July 26-August 5.
A press release from the chief medical officer’s (CMO) office informed that a total of 597 individuals were tested out of which five were tested positive.
The Urban Surveillance Team (UST) remarked that the turnout among the local shop owners was below expectation and suggested that it was very important for local shop owners to get themselves tested and know their status.
Wokha: Block Task Force (BTF) on COVID-19, Bhandari held a coordination meeting at the conference hall of the additional deputy commissioner (ADC), Bhandari on August 4 to ramp up intensified COVID-19 testing and vaccination drive in all the inter-state border villages under the Bhandari sub-division.
According to a DIPR report, ADC and chairman BTF, Tiameren Chang assessed the present situation and resolved to reach all remaining rural areas and villages with special vaccination and random testing drive.
Medical teams along with civil administration and head of offices as block task force members were detailed for that purpose, to different areas to carry out intensified testing and vaccination which should be completed within a scheduled period of time to ensure public health safety against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Continuation of screening all inbound travelers entering Bhandari and beyond through its check-gate was also reiterated.
In the meeting, the electrical department highlighted and informed that jungle clearance and line repair works which the department carried out for uninterrupted power supply was completed on time.
The house also resolved to conduct a week-long cleanliness drive for social hygiene maintenance, monsoon alertness and as part of preparation for the upcoming Independence Day. Work distribution and assignments were also distributed for preparation of the same.
