
With an aim to promote a healthy and clean ecosystem for the new upcoming Medical College in Phriebagei, Kohima, the department of forest, environment and climate change donated 3000 tree saplings to be planted in and around the Medical College premises.
In a press release, the department informed that in recognition of the donation, a tree plantation drive was carried out Friday at the site of Nagaland Medical College, Phriebagei in the presence of minister for health and family welfare (H&FW), S PangnyuPhom.
Appreciating the forest department, Pangnyu said this small step for the ecosystem was not only beneficial for the Medical College but also for the wellbeing of the entire state in the long run.
The minister was joined by principal secretary health & family welfare, Amardeep S. Bhatia, host of senior officials of the directorate in the tree sapling plantation drive.
