Rs. 63.34 cr disbursed for Kohima bypass package II

State deputy chief minister, Y Patton, who also in charge of road and bridges, disclosed that there was an advance package of Rs. 93.15 crore for Kohima by-pass package-II.

Responding to starred question raised by opposition member Kuzholuzo Nienu on the status of the road construction, Patton said that out of the total amount, Rs. 63.34 crore has been disbursed while Rs. 29.81 crore balance remained. Patton also said that 55-meter tunnel excavation work from Western Portal has been completed so far.

Azo raised concern over the utilisation of Rs. 93 crore for Kohima by-pass road package II. He, however, appreciated NHIDCL and said that the road development works were going on a war footing with quality control.

He opined that the landowners should not become a hindrance to the road project. 

He also exuded confidence that state would be have good roads like any other state within two-three years.
