CVC issues guidelines for ongoing road construction

Chümoukedima Village Council (CVC) while appealing all wards, colonies and public to cooperate and support the ongoing construction of the lifeline roads at Chümoukedima (2nd Gate to NIT, Nagaland and 1st gate/RP Gate to NIT, Nagaland) has issues guidelines for public convenience and safety.

In a press release, CVC joint secretary Sedevikho Tsükru has appealed the public dependent on the said roads to opt for available alternative routes unless unavoidable so as to ease traffic congestion and ensure uninterrupted progress of the ongoing road construction.

CVC has also directed all vehicles plying through the ongoing construction roads to drive within the speed limit of 20km/hr at all hours. The council said this was to avoid accidents and road mishaps which have significantly increased in the past few days and to ensure the safety of the public and construction workers. CVC said driving under speed limit would also prevent dust pollution which the roadside residents are being made to bear.

The council has also appealed the wards/colonies to extend all possible assistance and cooperation in the ongoing works, especially by being weary and strictly dealing with vandals and antisocial elements.

CVC reminded that it was the bounden duty of every right thinking citizen to ensure uninterrupted progress of the ongoing public works which would immensely benefit the public.

The council also exuded confidence that the contracting firm would undertake quality workmanship and complete the works in the stipulated time frame as provided for in the work order.
