Combined Technical Association of Nagaland (CTAN) has demanded that the power department posts of SDOs and JEs, not sent to NPSC, be sent for requisition before December 20, 2017. In an ultimatum, CTAN pointed out that they had made a number of verbal and written appeals requesting the department to requisition to NPSC, SDO and J.E posts, for fair and transparent competition.
However, as per the RTI reply from PIO, Power Department, only two SDO posts have been sent to NPSC and nine are to be sent for direct recruitment, as mentioned in the requisition letter from the department, dated December 12. CTAN also alleged that the department had not maintained the ratio for direct recruitment and promotion as per the Engineering Service Rule, i.e. 60:40 for SDOs and 90:10 for JEs.
With their demand for requisitioning the said posts to NPSC, they also reminded the department to restrain themselves from granting any further promotions to SDOs and JEs, effective from the date of this press release, until the ratio cited above was achieved.
CTAN added that with the expiry of the date, the department and contract appointees illegally occupying these posts would be held fully responsible for any untoward incident and threatened that they may go to the extent of stopping the department from functioning.
CTAN is a conglomeration of seven associations: CEAN (Civil Engineers Association of Nagaland), AECEN (Association of Electronics and Communication Engineering of Nagaland), AMEN (Association of Mechanical Engineers of Nagaland), FGAN (Forestry Graduates Association of Nagaland), HGN (Horticulture Graduates of Nagaland), ASAN (Agriculture Students Association of Nagaland) and GEEAN (Graduates Electrical Engineers Association of Nagaland).
