Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav activities conducted in Peren, Noklak

To commemorate the 75th anniversary of India’s Independence (Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav), various departments in the state are organising events and conducting activities for a resurgent “Aatmanirbhar Bharat”.

Flag rally organised in Noklak: A flag rally was organised at Noklak town on August 11.

According to a DIPR report, during the occasion, deputy commissioner Noklak, Hiazu Meru briefed the youth on how India got its Independence in 1947 from the British rule.

The DC advised the youth to contribute in any way they could do for the country. 

He expressed hope that along with the rest of the country, Noklak would also march towards the goals of progress and development.

Meru expressed his gratitude to the volunteers who took part in the programme.

The flag rally started at main town and proceeded to DC’s office complex where a short programme was conducted.

Meanwhile, plantation drive along the roadsides of Noklak town was also carried out to mark the occasion.

The programme was organised by Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Tuensang (Noklak unit), Nagaland in collaboration with Noklak district administration with SDO (C) C. Phuniang and EAC Sadar, Noklak, P. Pukha Lam as officers in-charge.

Youth march in Peren: A youth march from government higher secondary school till additional deputy commissioner’s office, Peren was held in Peren on August 11. 

During the march, additional deputy commissioner (ADC), Mhathung Tsanglao highlighted on the significance of the march and said that it was inspired by Gandhi’s march.

The ADC encouraged the youth to stand on their own feet as they were the future and stressed on the need to be self-reliant.

National service scheme (NSS) from government college and Nehru Yuva Kendra Peren volunteers along with district administration and others also took part in the event.
