Patton launches ‘district rural road seminar’

State deputy chief minister Y Patton, who is also in-charge of PWD (R&B) virtually launched the “district rural road seminar” programme on August 13.

According to Dy. CM media cell, the programme is the first activity in celebration of “India @75: Azaadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” from August 15 to August 15, 2022 as part of the initiative of national rural infrastructure development agency under ministry of rural development.
The yearlong activities are aimed at imparting public awareness on achievements of PMGSY schemes. Other activities also include maintenance drive on 7500 roads Pan India during October 2021, launching of information booklet of PMGSY roads connecting 75 sites of historical importance during December 2021 at the national level and formal winding up of PMGSY- 1 & PMGSY- 2 in August 2022.
Patton hoped that an active participation of the MPs, elected representatives, district administration, village councils, NGOs and stakeholders would be witnessed for smooth conduct and success of the programme.
In this regard, the department has nominated district nodal officers with the stakeholders.
The Dy. CM further invited everyone to partake in the celebration which would commence from Peren, Zunheboto, Wokha, Tuensang, and Phek district headquarters on August 15, followed by remaining district headquarters.
