JCPI reiterates on GB appointment

Ahead of the state government holding consultations with the Tribal Hohos on several key issues including appointment of GBs in urban areas, the Joint Committee for Prevention of Illegal Immigrants (JCPI) has reiterated that the appointment of non-Naga as Gaon Bura (GB) would be non-negotiable. 

JCPI through its media cell said that it was with the same intent the recommendation was also submitted to the Banuo Commission on RIIN. 

As part of the special provision in Article 371(A), for the Naga customary law and procedure, JCPI said the GB being the custodian of customary law should be aboriginal Nagas from the state of Nagaland.
