
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie, flagged off Nagaland State Cooperative Bank (NStCB) mobile ATM on August 18 in the presence of ADC, vice chairman NStCB, DDM NABARD and the banking fraternity of Kohima district.
A press release by chief manager and nodal officer, Nchumthung Kikon, informed that the mobile ATM was supported under Financial Inclusion Fund from NABARD and was the first such ATM in Kohima district and second after Dimapur which is also covered by the Nagaland State Cooperative Bank.
The ATM van will cover all rural areas where banking services was needed.
The DC while thanking NABARD for assistance and State Cooperative Bank for bringing such platform for reaching rural areas, he stated that he was confident that the van would help fill the leakage of expenses incurred by rural people in reaching bank and also save day labour.
He further expressed happiness as the mobile ATM will provide banking at doorstep.
