SAMETI organises training on plant protection measures

Two-day virtual training on “important plant protection measures for agriculture and horticulture crop” was organised by State Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (SAMETI) on August 18-19.

A press release by SAMETI Medziphema stated that the training was aimed at imparting technical knowledge on important plant protection measures for agriculture and horticulture crops to the participants. 

Resource persons for the training program were scientist Dr Tasvina R. Borah from pathology division of crop science, ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Umaim, Meghalaya and scientist Dr. Sandip Patra from entomology, ICAR, Umaim. 

Participatory lecture on the topic organic management of diseases in vegetables crops, importance of biocontrol and biopesticides, organic approaches of insect pests’ management, eco-friendly insect pest management in major crops in NEH region were covered during the training.

Altogether 22 participants from different districts attended the training. The entire training session was chaired by deputy project director SAMETI, Janet Chishi and vote of thanks was delivered by deputy project director, Yezaho Swu.
