
Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) and Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS) has informed that a two-day online training programme under Adolescence Education Programme (AEP) for teachers would be organised on August25 and 27, 10 a.m.-12 p.m.
According to a DIPR report, AEP is a joint initiative by Ministry of Education (MoE), department of school education & literacy and National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO) to equip every adolescent (between 10-19 years) with scientific information, knowledge and life-skills to protect themselves from HIV infection and manage concerns on reproductive and sexual health.
In this regard NSACS has been conducting training programmes for teachers under AEP in the state since 2010 with the objective to provide accurate age appropriate life skills-based adolescence education in a sustained manner in schools and provide structured education.
Under this training, aims and objectives of AEP, HIV/AIDS and STI, growing up and adolescence reproductive sexual health, mental health and substance abuse and life skills for HIV prevention would be discussed.
All heads of registered institutions have been requested to take note of the importance of the training and select one teacher to attend the training.
The registration link for the training programme would be shared in the district WhatsApp groups and email ID of the schools. The attendance of teachers from all the registered schools is compulsory and will be monitored.
