
An “exhibition of re-cycled products-cum-sale”, was held at the Babu Tsubo (Amphitheatre), Ungma, Friday, organised by the Ungma Council (Watsan –Water & Sanitation) in collaboration with PHED.
The speech of the guest of honour, district project officer, Mokokchung, Imkongzenla Jamir was read out by WATSAN chairman Limayanger, in the guest of honour’s absence. Imkongzenla lauded the womenfolk of Ungma village, members of the Mission Clean Drive for venturing to be innovators in re-cycling waste to productivity. She said that “this is what the world needs today”, at a time when the environment is being disastrously being polluted by manmade wastes. She also acknowledged and encouraged the mission to be earnestly carried for growth of village economy, as well as to protect nature. Moreover, Imkongzenla encouraged them to become self-reliant entrepreneurs through such noble and innovative ideas, instead of relying on a white-collared job.
Earlier, short speeches were delivered by Ungma Council chairman, Alemtoshi Imsong, PHED SDO M Kilem Jamir, Ungma Watsan secretaryAosungkum Longkumer, Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation (GoI), national level monitor, Dr. Kailash Mondhe and welcome address by Mission Clean Drive president, Alila.
Vote of thanks was given by Mission Clean Drive secretary Tsuktila, invocation by associate pastor (Women), N Ayangla and benediction by Amenla. The “exhibition of re-cycled products-cum-sale”, was inaugurated by Manoj Dixit, national level monitor, Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation.
