Former minister, Ihezhe Zhimomi launched his fourth book titled “A brief survey of Naga History” at his residence, at Thahekhu village, here on Saturday.
Speaking at the launching programme, Ihezhe said that he was not a scholar, however, he had the opportunity to learn some of the Naga history during his college and more when he was serving as an elected member in the state legislative assembly.
While stating that the book was dedicated to “Naga warriors”, Ihezhe said that it focused on the Ahom Naga Wars, Anglo Naga Wars and conflicts in India till date. He pointed out that the Ahom Naga war from 1228 AD to 1838 (six and half century) was the biggest war in the history of mankind.
He also said that the happenings of the Ahom Naga wars were written by Ahoms themselves and not Nagas.
Ihezhe encouraged the younger generation to go through the book and produce more volumes of book with regard to Naga history.
Meanwhile, publisher of the book, Dr. lanusangla Tzudir acknowledged the author for coming out with the comprehensive work.
She maintained that the author had lived up to the calling of taking up the responsibility to write a treasure for the younger generation.
Earlier, the launching programme was chaired by Akito Zhimomi while launching of the book and benediction was offered by Rev. Tolie Chase.
