Based on a specific information, security forces in a joint operation with state police apprehended a cadre of NSCN (K) cadre of Nikki Sumi faction in general area of Thahekhu, Dimapur on August 20 on charge of extortion.
According to PRO (Def) Kohima, Lt Col Sumit K Sharma, the individual was involved in extortion activities. The troops also recovered one point 32 Pistol and two live rounds.
The apprehended individual alongwith recovered items have been handed over to Sub Urban Police Station for further investigation.
