WASU organises career guidance programme

Western Angami Students’ Union (WASU) on August 21 organised a career guidance and felicitation- programme at Sechü Zubza council hall. 

In a press release, the union informed that the programme was held to felicitate students of the unit who had passed HSLC and HSSLC examination 2021 while also providing career guidance to students for further studies. 

Resource persons for the programme were joint director, higher education, Kohima Rokono Keyho and Kuolacalie Seyie, CEO Seyie Auto. 

During the first session, Rokono Keyho shared about the New education Policy (NEP 2020) and changes in the education system.

He also emphasised the importance and need for vocational and skill development.

Speaking on the topic “business potentialities in Nagaland”, Kuolachalie Seyie challenged the students to think of business as a career and shared business potentials available in Nagaland.

He stressed on the importance of hard work, commitment, persistence and integrity to become successful and to be a job giver and not a job seeker.

Earlier, the programme was chaired by general secretary WASU Mhiesisekho, while a welcome note was shared by union president Thekrusevi  Meru.

At the program, all NBSE rank holders and subject toppers from the unit were awarded. 

Adeno Gwirie from Baptist Mission School Jotsoma was also awarded the 2021 WASU award for excellence.
