
In order to achieve successful implementation of government programmes and policies, the advisor for Industries & Commerce and Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Imnatiba Jamir, held a meeting with DC, SP & skill council members of Mon district on August 24.
In a press release, IT & media cell, state NDPP youth organisation informed that during the meeting, the advisor hinted on decentralisation of skill policies and formation of sub-councils to enhance employment generation programmes and mobilisation of schemes for unemployed youth.
In his address, DC Mon, Thavaseelan K highlighted challenges faced by the youth stationed across the country who were employed in service industries and suggested that the government initiate certain support mechanisms.
CSOs including Konyak Nyupuh Sheko Khong (KNSK) and Konyak Students Union (KSU) also participated at the meeting.
Meanwhile, with an aim to address the rising unemployment in the state, NDPP youth organisation led by its president Kelhouneizo Yhome held a consultative meeting with the unemployed youth of the district at Mon town.
During the programme, special guest, Imnatiba Jamir, who is also the legislator in-charge of the youth organisation, said that means of engaging the youth into government jobs had become scarce and that they should involve in other means of self-employment.
He also advised the youth to form construction groups by engaging the services of the civil & electrical engineers available in their respective districts.
