A national webinar on “MATLAB” was organised by the department of mathematics St. Joseph University (SJU) Dimapur on August 23.
A press release by SJU stated that the resources persons were Dr. J Nareshkumar and Dr. Gunasekar – associate professors, department of mathematics, Vel Tech Rangarajan Dr. Sagunthala R&D Institute of Science and Technology.
In the first session, fundamentals of MATLAB which gave more information about using MATLAB as a calculator, matrix operations, solving system of equations, finding eigen values and eigenvectors were highlighted. In the second session, application of MATLAB was aimed accurately, like solving ordinary differentiation, partial differentiation, Taylor’s series expansion, multiple integral and plotting of curves.
It may be noted that MATLAB is a proprietary multi-paradigm programming language and numeric computing environment.
