PPC urges govt to expedite foothill road construction

Phom People’s Council (PPC) Friday joined other civil society groups in affirming support to the 30-day ultimatum served on the state government by NFHRCC and urged the state government to look into the plight of the public and “expedite the foothills road work with utmost priority.”

In a press release, PPC president Shami Angh and secretary H Sunep Phom cautioned that the council would not remain silent in the event the government failed to comply with NFHRCC’s demands.
PPC expressed regret over the government “apathetic approaches” towards the crucial issue, which has been long neglected depriving the people living in far flung regions of their basic rights and entitlements.
