Unity College (UC) Dimapur department of political science on August 21 organised an online workshop on “basics of research and the art of writing good research papers”.
In a press release, the college informed that the objective of the programme was to introduce undergraduates to basics and fundamentals of research and to provide them with introductory lessons in making the jump from classroom to academic research.
Speaking at the workshop as resource person, associate professor, centre for political studies, school of social sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, Dr. V Bijukumar spoke on basics of research and various steps towards writing good quality papers.
He broke down the stages on process of writing and publishing research articles, discussing intricacies of each of these stages and their criticality.
Meanwhile, head of the department of political science, Dr.Rimmei Longmei shared the importance of research in education, and the need to introduce it at college level, to instruct and train our students.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by Siamthianngai of BA 5th semester, Leipa Konyak of MA 3rd semester proposed the vote of thanks while an interaction was held with the resource person.
