
St. John College (SJC) Dimapur organised programmes on “gendering security” and “bamboo and its ecosystem functions”, “Women Equality Day 2021” and “Indian Political Thinker: Kautilya” on different occasions.
In a press release, SJC stated that a talk on “Gendering Security: Understanding Gender differentiated imagines in foreign Policy” was conducted by Jube Boruah Mondal of political science department.
Resource person, assistant professor, Urbi Das from department of International Relation Javadpur University Kolkata spoke on gender discrimination or differences that women face from independence till date.
A webinar on “bamboo and its ecosystem functions” was organised by department of Botany in collaboration with horticulture club with district environment coordinator, Goalpara, Assam, Dr. Mukta Chandra Das as the resource person.
On the occasion of Women Equality Day 2021, political science department and anti-ragging and sexual harassment committee, conducted programme on women empowerment, participation in politics and their security.
Resource person, assistant professor, Mayashree Gharphalia from JB Law College Guwahati, Assam spoke in regards to women’s role in house, society towards nation and also how their participation in local bodies or at national level would help to bring out women related issues.
A talk on “Indian Political Thinker: Kautilya” was organised by political science department on August 27 with assistant professor, Sujit Kumar Sonowal from department, Women’s College, Tinsukia, Assam as resource person.
