Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NLSA) conducted various legal literacy programmes and activities for Legal Literacy Clubs (LLCs) in the month of August, 2021.
In a press release, NSLSA public relations assistant, Ketholeno Neihu informed that the literacy programme was held in various districts.
Kohima: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Kohima conducted online debate with LLCs on August 27, on the topic “development and environment”.
Under the debate competition, Stella Hr. Sec School, Dr. Neilhouzhu Higher Sec School were declared as first and second.
Retainer and panel lawyers Sunjib Rana Aketoliand Stila were the judges.
Mon: DLSA Mon organised a painting competition on Right to Education (RTE) on August 17 with LLC.
Chief judicial magistrate & secretary DLSA Mon, Seyielenuo Mezhü, NJS gave a welcome note and elaborated on the topic.
Based on the final decision of the panel of judges the cash prizes were awarded to Aying from Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Mon who bagged the first position while Peter Leezushu from Konjong higher Secondary School, Mon and Manwang from Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Mon bagged second and third position respectively. Consolation prize was awarded to Pholang K from Govt. Higher Secondary School ‘D’, Mon.
Wokha: DLSA Wokha organised inter school LLC members painting competition on “Right to Education” on August 28, at front office of Wokha DLSA.
Athunglo P Humtsoe was adjudged as first while Rhonjanthung Jami and Nzanroni Yanthan bagged second and third position respectively.

Longleng: DLSA Longleng organised online speech competition for LLC on the topic “RTE Act 2009” on August 30.
The winners were Lidau H Phom from Christian School, K Asang Phom from Good Shepherd School and Theiang B Phom from Shamakok Mission School. Over 20 students from LLC participated.
Dimapur: DLSA Dimapur conducted inter-LLC debate competition on the topic “Social media and the rapid spread of information” at the district court complex on August 30.
Seven LLC schools participated in the debate competition.
Mharhoni Ezung from Livingstone Foundation International and Lisabeth B. Awomi from Christian Higher Seondary School scored first position. Imnasenla Longkumer from St. John Higher Secondary School and Christina Ming from Naharbari Government High School bagged second and third position.
The judges for the debate competition were Y Longkumer, Principal District & Sessions Judge and Chairperson, Dimapur DLSA, Boduve Peter Resu, CJM (IC) and Secretary Dimapur DLSA. Mezivolu T. Therieh, OSD (Registrar), secretary and supreme court legal services committee distributed the certificates and prizes.
Phek: DLSA Phek in collaboration with teacher-in-charge, LLC members of Christian home school, Phek conducted painting/sketching competition on the topic ‘”Misuse of gadgets and Social Media” on August 26.
The competition was conducted in the presence of Cheliam Khiamniungan, secretary, Phek DLSA cum JMFC. Thajeleno, APP, Kavito, teacher-in charge and Dieze Vadeo. Winners of the competition were Thozo, Vethalu and Mewe.
