State MLAs at policy workshop in Delhi

Seven legislators from Nagaland are participating at the two-day workshop for state legislators of North East India, which got underway at India International Centre, New Delhi Thursday hosted by PRS Legislative Research.

On the first day, the workshop had intensive discussion on following topics: effective legislative engagement; understanding budget and state finance; fund flow to north east states through central schemes. 

The topics on the second day of the workshop would include 15th Finance Commission recommendations; Act East Policy and challenges and opportunities for North East. 

At the inaugural function, union minister of Tourism, Culture and DoNER, G Kishan Reddy delivred keynote address. The workshop conference would be concluded September 3.

The legislators attending the workshop conference include Minister Tongpang Ozukum, advisor Dr. Neikesalie Kire, Advisor Mhathung Yanthan, Advisor KT Sukhalu, Advisor H Khehovi Yepthomi, Advisor H Haiying, Advisor Medo Yhokha.

NLA additional secretary Khruohituonuo Rio also accompanied the legislators at the workshop.
