District level workshop held in Noklak

District level workshop was held at the conference hall of the deputy commissioner (DC), Noklak on September 2. The workshop was chaired by district planning officer, Meren Jamir and others including DC Hiazu Meru and SP Pritpal Kaur along with all district level department officers. 

According to a DIPR report, DC introduced the SDGs and dwelt on the importance of data collection at the district level.
He said that as the youngest district of Nagaland, the SDGs were very important for inclusive development and also shared key priority areas for the district, which included road connectivity, IT quality healthcare and education. 
A PowerPoint presentation was made by SDGs officer, SDG coordination centre, planning & coordination department, MS Abilo Humtsoe on SDG localisation and integration with a focus on Noklak district.
She shared about the state and district level institutional mechanism and strategy for SDG implementation and district indicator frame work for monitoring SDGs.
She also highlighted the importance of having separate data collection for Noklak district to monitor the progress of SDG at the district level 
This was followed by interactive session which was taken by SDGs consultant, SDG coordination centre, planning & coordination Department, Zitin Munshi.
The session consisted of interactive exercises for identifying priority areas and viable local level solutions for Noklak district for all relevant department.
The DC highlighted that SDGs are very important for the district and that the discussions helped everyone understand local challenges and solutions better.
