Security forces in a joint operation with the police apprehended two over ground workers (OGWs) of NSCN (I-M) and NSCN (KN) at general area Thahekhu, Dimapur on August 30.
According to PRO IGAR (N), based on a specific input, the joint team recovered a cash of Rs. 47,600 from the possession of the cadres.
The apprehended individuals along with recovered items were handed over to sub urban police station, Dimapur District for further investigation, PRO informed.
Longleng police nab 2 with drugs
Longleng police arrested two persons on charges of possessing banned drugs on September 4, at around 5 a.m.
According to DPRO Longleng, the two accused individuals identified as Kamyang Phom and Apang Phom were arrested by a special operation team (SOT) under the supervision of SDPO Longleng. The duo was travelling in a night bus service from Dimapur to Longleng. DPRO said suspected brown sugar concealed in four soap cases were recovered from their possession.
The two were taken into custody and criminal case was registered with Longleng police station for further investigation.
DPRO also informed that Longleng police have registered 15 cases in connection with NDPS Act and other drug related cases, arrested 23 accused persons and recovered brown sugar this year alone till September 4, 2021.
