
Raj Bhavan has informed all the deputy commissioners (DCs) to organise essay competitions for students of Nagaland on the topic “Relevance of Gandhiji’s thoughts for building a peaceful and prosperous Nagaland”.
In a circular, commissioner & secretary to governor, T. Mhabemo Yanthan informed that students of high school and higher secondary school were eligible to participate in the competition.
The length of the essay would be 2000 words (approx); students must submit their essays though email to their respective DCs and selection of winners would be done district wise.
The circular informed that the first prize in each district would carry an award of Rs. 25000 with certificate and winner of the second prize would receive Rs. 15000 with certificate from the governor.
Commissioner & Secretary informed DCs to take necessary steps immediately to reach to all interested students in their respective districts. The DCs would constitute a committee under his chairmanship to evaluate the essays submitted and declare the winners.
Winners of the competition would be felicitated on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi’s birthday celebration at Raj Bhavan on October 2. Information for this purpose would also be communicated to the participants.
Schools of students would determine the district they represent; DCs will frame the last date for submission and provide a platform/email where students send their essays.
DCs have also been informed to ensure that details of first and second prize winners of each district including contact number reach Raj Bhavan by September 27.
