
Tuensang District Development and Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held at the conference hall of the deputy commissioner (DC) Tuensang on September 7, under the chairmanship of DC and vice chairman DPDB Tuensang.
According to a DIPR report, the meeting discussed upgrading of Government Middle School Tuensang village to High School for which Education department Tuensang was entrusted for verification and detail reports to be submitted to the government for approval.
The house deliberated and approved the construction of guesthouse cum village museum at Tuensang village, construction of district park at Noksen as proposed by the Noksen Village Council to be forwarded to the government for approval.
The house also considered the constitution of SDG committee for Tuensang district.
Regarding landslide and sinking problem of Phenjan sector, St John sector-A Tuensang town which was affecting hundreds of households, the meeting decided that the district administration Tuensang would do a spot verification and submit to land resource department Tuensang for further modalities.
The problem of network connectivity in Tuensang district was also discussed in the house and the house agreed to write to respective companies for immediate compliance.
The meeting deliberated on dumping ground of the town where the PHED department’s test result was also highlighted that the downstream quality of water was not promising for the consumption which required urgent check.
Meanwhile, the Tuensang Town Council’s proposal for the construction of treatment plant cum dumping ground to the government of Nagaland was also highlighted and decided for pursue for earliest approval.
District level w’shop on SDG held
District Level Workshop (DLW) on building capacities for taking forward sustainable development goals (SDGs) was held at the conference hall of the DC, Tuensang on September 3 and was chaired by district planning officer Tuensang, Solumo Ezung.
The session on SDG Localisation and integration focused on Tuensang district was conducted by Abilo Humtsoe, SDG Officer, SDG coordination centre, planning and coordination department.
Abilo shared about the national, state and district level institutional mechanism and strategy for SDG implementation, district indicator frame work for monitoring the sdg and way forward.
She also highlighted indicators (as part of the North East region SDG Index-baselibe report 2021-2022) which required improvement in Tuensang district.
SDG consultant SDG coordination centre, planning and coordination department, Zitin Munshi conducted an interactive session where priority areas and viable local level solutions for Tuensang district for relevant departments were discussed.
The workshop was attended by DC Tuensang and concerned HoDs of the district.
