SJC organises international webinar

To commemorate “national nutrition week”, departments and committees of St. John College (SJC) Dimapur organised a two-day international webinar. 

In a press release, SJC informed that zoology department observed the first day of the webinar on September 6 under the theme “feeding smart, right from start”. 

Resource person BCS (Admin), Retd., deputy secretary government of Bangladesh, Tapan Kumar Nath spoke about the importance of balanced diet from young age in relation to good health during old age.

He also brought to light major problems faced by people of Bangladesh and how to cope by improving lifestyles choices. 

On the second day, addressing the students of well-being and peer counseling committee, nutrition for global health, London school of hygiene and tropical medicine, Imtikala Ao delivered 7 healthy tips for college students and spoke on the importance of maintaining a healthy diet.

Suggestions on alternative food items for people allergic to certain food contents and healthy alternatives to unhealthy snacks was also highlighted. 

She further stressed upon the importance of being adventurous when it came to choosing what to eat and adding more variety and new items to the usual plate of food.
