Local food show marks Poshan Maah 2021

As a part of the month long celebration of  Poshan Maah 2021, cooking competitions  and local food show was conducted at various districts on September 10. 

MON: Mon block (ICDS) and district jointly conducted cooking competition-cum-local food show programme at Chi village in collaboration with RD-NRLM. 

According to DIPR, at the programme DPO (ICDS) Y. Tauhong Ngonyen, while delivering welcome address stressed on the importance to health nutrition especially among women. He also briefly spoke on the importance of PMMVY schemes.

SDO (C) Hq, Lithrila Sangtam encouraged all to preserve the indigenous crops and food items locally available while encouraging the participants to render cooperation in the days to come. BDO Mon block Tingyeih in his short speech called upon the participants not to stay idle but to give importance on the organic crops available.

Chi village chairman conveyed gratitude on behalf of Chi villagers for conducting the programme.

Eight SHGs particpated in the cooking competition while for local food show six SHGs participated. 

In the competition, Mongjum SHG bagged the first position while the second and third positions went to Teimongpu SHG and Shamei SHG

Phek: Department of Social Welfare, Phek organised cooking competition at CDPO office meeting hall on the theme, “Preparation of Nutritious Food locally available fruits and vegetables”

Six group participated in the competition namely Vekuhu SHG, Phek village AWW, women SHG federation Phek block, Phek town AWW, Kuphulu SHG Ketsapo, Ketsapo Village AWW.  The panel of judges consisted of EAC Phek, Er. Mechietsho Koza; BDO Phek, Heipeuding Illunglang and District Health Mobilizer, CMO office Phek, Azenuo. 

New Jalukie: Department of Social Welfare, Jalukie ICDS Project organised a block level cooking competition at local ground, New Jalukie. 

The programme was chaired by project coordinator Peren, Kulule.

Speaking at the programme, CDPO Jalukie, Namhuheing spoke on proper nutrition and also emphasized on the importance of organic food which are locally available for consumption. The first position was bagged by Jalukie town AWWs & Helpers while Mhainamtsi, Jalukie B and SHG Kariugai, New Jalukie bagged the second, third and fourth positions respectively. 43 Anganwadi centres and two SHGs from New Jalukie participated in the competition.

Chiephobozou Block: Chiephobozou block also organised local food show and pickle making competition at Chiephobozou CDPO office on September 10. 

A press release from CDPO office stated that anganwadi workers from 17 villages participated in competition, whereby the panel of judges were ADC, EAC, SDAO and chairman Chiephobozou town. 

In local food competition, participants from Gariphema, Tsiesema Basa, Tuophema bagged the first, second and third positions while in pickle making, Zhadima, Tuophema and Seiyhama bagged the first, second and third positions. Winning groups were awarded with cash prizes by the CDPO.
