
A two-day online training programme on “doubling of farmers income: market led agri extension” for Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) functionaries was held from September 13-14 by State Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (SAMETI).
In a press release, SAMETI Medziphema informed that training was aimed at imparting technical knowledge on doubling farmers income.
Resource persons for the training program were department of agricultural economics assistant professor Dr. Sanjoy Das, and department of rural development, NU:SASRD Medziphema assistant professor Dr. Mary N Odyuo.
Participatory lectures on issues of marketing management in agri and allied products, linking farmers to market through contract farming, market led extension for agricultural development, reorienting agricultural extension functionaries towards market led extension were covered during the training.
Altogether 22 participants from different districts attended the training. The entire training session was chaired by deputy project director State Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute Janet Chishi; feedback forms were submitted by the participants and e-certificates were distributed to the participants while vote of thanks was delivered by deputy project director Yezaho Swu.
