Security forces apprehend NSCN cadre

Security Forces in a joint operation with the state police apprehended an NSCN (I-M) cadre at general area, Super Market, Dimapur, on September 14.

According to PRO IGAR (N), based on a specific input, the joint team recovered one 9 mm pistol with magazine, four live rounds of 9 mm pistol and a cash of Rs. 1,29,400.    

The apprehended cadre along with recovered items was handed over to east police station for further investigation. 

Police recover lost truck

Police have recovered a truck that went missing along with two drivers and arrested two persons.

According to a DIPR report, on receiving the information of GPS readings which indicated probable location within Dimapur area, sources were activated and DCP Zone-II Dimapur was asked to assist in the inquiry.

In this regard, cyber unit Dimapur was also informed to track the location of the missing drivers.

At around 4:45 p.m., the latest GPS location of the missing truck was tracked in the adjoining area of Ashok fuel station, Khatkhati, Assam.

A special operation team of Dimapur police was requisitioned through IPS DCP-II Munesh Payal while ASI Limatemjen of Longleng police along with UBC Purnungsang were dispatched to Dimapur.

In this connection, the missing truck was recovered and two suspected persons, MD Atar Ali (23) and MD Moidul Islam (29) were arrested., however, the drivers Assanath Rabha and Taiber Beg are still absconding, DIPR informed.

Meanwhile, on September 12, at around 9 a.m., SOT of DEF Longleng intercepted one Santro (AS03D9292) near Tangha village and recovered around 68 bottles of 750 ml MC rum. In this connection, the police arrested Edui Ali and Rosan Phukan, and a case under section 44 NLTP Act was register with Longleng police station.
