KVC, KYO conduct mass social work

Kashiram Village Council (KVC) along with Kashiram Youth Organisation (KYO) conducted a mass social work on September 11.

In a press release, KYO secretary Chenti Kath informed that the drive was carried out to repair the stretch of road leading from Eden Hospital Kashiram village and Maple Tree School Kashiram village till Kashiram village junction.

The release claimed that few potholes developed eight years ago and more potholes were visible, which led to major deterioration of some stretch.

While pointing out that the stretch of road was “currently maintained by the Rangapahar army cantonment”, the council and organisation lamented on the lack of maintenance by Rangapahar army cantonment during the past 10-11 years.

In this regard, they said that it resulted in gradual deterioration.

Seeing that all its requests were falling on deaf ears, the village council and its youth body said that they decided to take matters into their own hands and conducted a donation drive for which, residents willingly donated in cash, kind and manpower.

KVC has, further appealed to the responsible authority to look into the matter and do the needful.
