A brief formal launching programme of 2-Lane Road Project Peren-Dimapur NH 129A (Pkg-2) by C Gopal Reddy and Company in collaboration with M/S Hi-Tech Construction & Co was held on September 20 at the Base Camp, Old Jalukie village.
DC Peren, Sentiwapang Aier in his address said that it was a privilege and source of blessing for the Nagas particularly for the Zeliang people under Peren district for getting the opportunity of 2-lane road (Pkg-2).
He encouraged the company to work with dedication and requested them to maintain the quality of road and work.
Further, the DC called upon the civil societies and stakeholders to continue their cooperation and support in the coming days.
Managing director of M/S Hi-Tech, Kuchi R Zeliang while welcoming the gathering also expressed happiness that the dream of the people of Peren district to have good roads has been finally realised with the commencing of the project.
He disclosed that the package had passed through several hurdles during the tendering stage as it had to undergo cancellation of tenders twice due to non-fulfillment of criteria laid down by NHIDCL.
However, in the third attempt, CGR in collaboration with M/S Hi-Tech constructions participated and after due process was selected and accordingly signed the contract agreement with NHIDCL.
He also expressed optimism that this 2-lane road will bring success story to the people of Peren district with the support from all section.
Others who spoke in the Programme were Zeliangrong Baudi president, C.R Zeliang, Zeme Council president, Dr. Tumda Newme and village council chairman, Old Jalukie.
They extended their fullest support and cooperation on behalf of the people of Peren district and urged the contractors to work sincerely without comprising the specifications mentioned in the DPR.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by EAC Jalukie, Wangan Phom, while welcome speech was delivered by Managing Director CGR and company and invocation by Rev. Hevziebe, Jalukie ‘B’ Baptist Church.
