Jalukie Zangdi village gets marketing shed

Commissioner and secretary, rural development (RD) department, Neposo Theluo inaugurated a marketing shed constructed under XV finance commission (basic) for the financial year 2020-21 at Jalukie Zangdi village under Peren district on September 21.

In a press release, RD department publicity cell informed that while speaking at the inaugural, the commissioner & secretary lauded the village council for judiciously utilising the fund sanctioned by the department in making the project a success.

He however urged them to follow the guidelines provided by the government while implementing schemes. 

Reiterating that market channel was important, he stressed on the need to start bazaar culture and exchange excess produce from their fields with neighbouring villages. Since 90% of Zangdi village citizens were farmers, he said that they could easily earn a living by selling their products.

In this regard, he expressed optimism that the newly constructed weekly market would go a long way in helping farmers generate income.

Neposo said the department was focused on helping villages build marketing sheds to help eradicate poverty.

He reminded the village council to come up with proper and comprehensive schemes to be implemented during the people’s plan campaign on gram panchayat development plan which would be observed from October 2-January 31, 2022.

Meanwhile, ADC Jalukie, Dr. Tinojongshi Chang and additional director RD, Tsalito also spoke during the programme.

Earlier, dedicatory prayer was said by pastor Shepota Nusori (JBC).
