Confederation of Nagaland Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CNCCI) has threatened to step up state-wide protest as part of its third phase agitation, if the state government failed to address its charter of demands at the earliest.
CNCCI president Dr. Khekugha Muru, in a release said that as part of second phase protest 12 District Chambers of Commerce and Industry (DCCIs) on Wednesday submitted representation and reminder letter addressed to state chief secretary through their respective deputy commissioner offices demanding immediate redressal from the government.
CNCCI said DCCIs submitted the representation and reminder letter in pursuance to CNCCI’s charter of demands placed before the state government on September 9, 2021.
As part of its first phase agitation, CNCCI had called for statewide business closure on September 16, 2021.
CNCCI had said its extension for the statewide closure was to show solidarity with Dimapur Chamber of Commerce &Industry (DCCI) which called for “shutter down” protest in Dimapur against multiple taxation by NPGs and government agencies and government’s failure to respond to their representation submitted to the chief secretary.
The CNCCI representation had demanded immediate resolution of multiple taxation by NPGs, removal of all forms of taxes/fees collected by civic bodies on items that come under GST regime, immediate implementation of SARFAESI Act and representation from trade bodies in all municipal, town and ad-hoc town councils.
