
Commemorating the 75th anniversary of India’s Independence (Azadi Ka Amrit Mahatsov), a culmination programme in recognition of the successful completion of PMKSY-WDC erstwhile IWMP, Batch V & VI project was organised by the department of Land Resources, Peren on September 22.
SDO Peren, Kemciyile, who graced the event, acknowledged the department and the project stakeholder for successful completion of the programme.
She stressed on the importance of agriculture and farming with the support of technology and financial assistance in the post Covid-19 era.
She also encouraged the villagers to have a sense of ownership for the assets created through the department.
Speaking on the occasion, DPO Land Resources Peren, Alemla Aier elucidated the concept of “Exit Policy protocols” in the management of Watershed Development Fund, and called for judicious utilisation of the funds.
A slideshow highlighting the accomplishment of various Watershed Development activities in plantations, soil moisture conservation works, livelihood and micro-enterprises creating avenues for income generation was presented by WDT, Akovinuo.
Later, SDO (C) Peren handed over the Watershed Development Fund of PMKSY-WDC to all the 26 villages.
